With over 60 years combined experience in scooters, our workshop abilities and knowledge are envied by many. As new models are brought out our technicians are trained on that model so we can continue to provide the scale of service that our customers have grown to appreciate and expect.

Like thousands of other people, scooters were the main hobby of Graham Best in 1969. By 1972 he and some friends had started scooter racing. This involvement in the sporting side of scootering attracted other scooterists for help in repairs and performance tuning and with the help of a friend (Keith) the Kegra Racing Lambretta Club was formed.

Graham's knowledge grew at such a rate that by 1979 he registered a scooter repair business called Kegra Racing (taken from the original club name), this being run in a workshop at the rear of his house. With his family's help and patience he built the business up and in June 1983 opened a shop in Prince Avenue, Southend, which enabled him to sell new Lambretta and Vespa scooters.

With friendly helpful staff and continuing success on the race track (taking 4 British championships) Kegra was soon recognised as one of the leading scooter shops in the country, and also became known world-wide through a rapidly growing mail order service.

As Piaggio's range grew, so did Kegras knowledge and expertise, as did their range of spares, accessories, tuning goodies, clothing and helmets.The premises extended in 2002 to allow for a larger showroom.
