The Nursery

We are a small family business established on the same site since 1982. The nursery is situated on Lower Road between Hockley and Hullbridge, occupying 9 acres overlooking the Crouch Valley. We opened the new retail outlet in April 2002 and due to the amount of interest shown are constantly revising our growing schedules with special regard to perennials and basket plants.

Our aim is to grow and provide an ever-changing mix of new plants together with garden worthy favourites that set us apart from the Garden Centres. We offer first hand advice about our plants together with a friendly service and competitive pricing.

Baskets and Pots

You will always find a large selection of planted baskets and tubs for all seasons, however we will be pleased to plant to order, using your own container or one from our wide selection. Due to the high volume of new and refilled summer basket orders, we ask our customers to pre-order after Easter for collection from May onwards.

We also carry a comprehensive selection of glazed and terracotta pots in all shapes and sizes together with a wide range of wicker hanging baskets.

Plants

We stock a large selection of deciduous and evergreen shrubs, roses, climbers and trees together with an extensive range of annuals, perennials and container plants. You will also find a selection of hardy and semi-hardy palms and Mediterranean plants, bulbs, grasses, alpines, heathers, herbs and vegetables.

Directions

From Chelmsford (A12)
Take the new A130 towards Southend - leaving at the first exit signposted Rawreth. Take the 4th exit off the roundabout towards Rayleigh (A1245). Immediately before the traffic lights take the left slip-road into Rawreth Lane.

From Southend (A127)
Take the A1245 (old A130) towards Chelmsford - straight across the next roundabout - at the lights at the top of the hill turn right into Rawreth Lane.

From Rawreth Lane
At the end of Rawreth Lane turn left towards Hullbridge - At the mini roundabout in Hullbridge go straight across into Lower Rd. - Follow Lower Rd. towards Hockley and Riverside Nursery is 2mls on left
