Canadian Jeremy Cornish heads the Raiders this season as the teams' new Player/Coach. The 6'4" winger comes to the Raiders after several years in the countries top flight, the Elite League.

The Ontario native spent last season as assistant coach of the Elite League Basingstoke Bison. Prior to coming to the UK Jeremy spent time in the CHL, the UHL and the ECHL.

29-year-old Cornish brings a wealth of experience and hockey knowledge to the Raiders and is sure to make a big impact as the team begin their first season in the ENL.

1 - Toby Cooley

Toby Cooley joins the Raiders again this season for what will be his twelfth at the club, having originally graduated from Rydes very own junior teams. In recent years Toby has provided the Raiders with some of the best backup goaltending in the EPL, and this year is expected to be the Raiders first choice as they enter their first season in the ENL. Off the Ice 27-year-old Toby is the face of the Raiders, as he visits local schools promoting both the team and the islands junior development programme.

90 - Matt Colclough

19-year-old Matt Colclough comes to the Raiders from the Guildford junior system, where he started playing as part of their Under 14's squad. Colclough who represented Team England at Under 17's level spent his final junior season with the Guildford Under 18's while training throughout the season with the Guildford Flames EPL team. 
The 6-foot Goalie is also an experienced Roller Hockey Player having played for Great Britian at Under 12's and Under 16's level.

37 - Danny Hughes

British Trained 

 

Danny joined the Raiders part way through the 2007/2008 season and proved to be a great pick up. Previous to this Hughes played three seasons with the Bracknell Bees, where he posted decent stats. But the 25-year-old had more to give coming to the Island and securing his place firmly on the top two lines Hughes impressively racked up 65 points from 76 games for the Raiders in the EPL. While most of Danny's career including his junior years has been spent in Bracknell he has also played for the Chelmsford Chieftains, and the England U-20's. Danny is best known for his blistering Slap shot, which has caught many a Netminder unaware.

23 - Andrew Robinson

Andy first joined the Raiders back in 2003 and has iced for the team every season since. 28-year-old Robinson is a reliable and passionate player who never gives less than 100% every time he steps out on the ice. Before joining the Island team 'Robo' as he has become known, played for the Basingstoke Buffalo in the ENL. This is one player that is sure to be a firm fans favourite once again this season.

12 - Steve Gosset

British Trained 

 

Steve Rejoins the Raiders for his sixth season, having come up through the junior development system at Ryde arena, and is a popular player with many Raiders Fans. Steve, who was voted most improved player for the 2005/2006 season spent last year playing for the Vectis Tigers in ENL Div. 2 where he posted 32 points from 28 games and added 98 PiM.

13 - Kieran Annis

British Trained 

Impressive youngster Kieran Annis comes to the Raiders from the Isle of Wight Junior Ice Hockey Club.

The 5'9" forward has a good hokey brain and great skill with the puck. He scored 15 goals and 9 assists in just 14 games for the Islands Under 18's squad last term which saw him finish the season as the teams highest goal and points scorer. 

18-year-old Annis has several games experience in the ENL having iced games for the Vectis Tigers during the past two seasons, last season scoring 3 points in 9 games.

8 - John Sarno

5'9" John Sarno is described as a player with good scoring ability and even better playmaking skills.
He is a smart hockey player who moves the puck well and executes fast accurate passes.
  John who turned 26 in April has played most of his senior hockey career across the channel in France where in four season he racked up 77 Goals and 65 Assists in just 63 games.

6 - James Udell

James Udell joins the Raiders after spending the last three seasons with the ENL North Division 1 team the Newcastle ENL Vipers, where he played 59 games and racked up 40 points.
The feisty forward spent his junior career in Billingham where he first broke into senior hockey in 2003 while playing for their Under 19's squad as he took to the ice in both the ENL and Northern League for the Billingham Bombers.

Stewart Tait re-joins the Raiders after two years with the Slough Jets in the EPL. Stewart iced the 2006/2007 season for the Wightlink Raiders in which despite playing both forward and defensive positions he scored an impressive 19 points in 38 games.
28-year-old Tait started last season with ENL South Division 1 team the Steatham Redskins where in 7 games he racked up 9 points, before he moved on to re-join the Slough EPL squad.
Stewart plays with infectious enthusiasm and his extensive experience will be an asset to the squad and an inspiration to his teammates.

10 - Joe Reynolds

Joe joined the Raiders part way through the 2009/2010 season shortly after younger brother and now team mate Luke rejoined the squad.

The 26-year-old utility player gives the Raiders great depth and versatility with his reliable and simple style playing both as a forward and a defenceman.

Joe played 13 games for the Raiders in the EPL during the 2004/2005 season, but has spent the majority of his senior career in the ENL, joining the Raiders from the Streatham Redskins Joe has had previous spells with the Bracknell Hornets and the Haringey Greyhounds.

Damon is no stranger to Ice Hockey on the Island, having come up through the rinks junior teams, and making his debut for the Raiders in 2002.  23-year-old Larter will rejoin the Raiders for his sixth season with the club this year, after receiving three of the end of season awards in 2008, including Defenseman of the year. Damon has been a top four defenceman for the last two seasons in the EPL and is an important returnee for the Raiders.

73 - Alex Murray

Alex joins the Raiders after a successful season with the Islands Vectis Tigers in ENL Div.2 during which time he also iced eight games for the Raiders in the EPL.

The offensive defenceman is a great playmaker having originally played as a centreman during his junior career at the Solent and Gosport Ice Hockey Club where he also played three seasons with their ENL team prior to playing on the Island.

20-year-old Murray will be an important addition to this years Raiders squad, and is expected to play a major role within the team.

22 - Kevin Tanner

Defenceman Kevin Tanner signs up for his first season with the Raiders, having spent the past two seasons with the Vectis Tigers. 

Kevin like his teammates Alex Murray and David Webb, is a former Solent and Gosport Junior Ice Hockey player, he progressed to have two highly successful seasons with their ENL team before making the move to the Island.

Last season Tanner notched up 24 points in 26 ENL Div. 2 games, for the Tigers while amassing 122 penalty minutes.

5'8" Defenceman Steve Gannaway brings a wealth of experience to the team having iced every season with the Raiders since the were formed bar last season that he spent a player/assistant coach of the Bracknell Bees in the EPL.

'Ganners' is a reliable stay at home defenceman who reads the game well, he is sure to be a fans favourite again this season as he takes to the ice in his famous number 3 shirt.

22-Year-Old Dan Scott joins the Raiders again this season after having iced 14 games for the team in last years EPL campaign. Daniel is a good British defenceman who has a lot of Elite League experience with the Nottingham Panthers. The 6'2'' D-man has played with both Solihull and Romford in the English Premier League previously and is known for his size, physical play and accurate shot. Prior to joining the Raiders for the first time Dan spent a year playing for IC Epinal across the channel in France.

27 - Luke Reynolds

Luke rejoins the Raiders part way through the 2009/2010 season after returning from Australia and will bring a wealth of experience to the team. Reynolds has iced 56 games in the Elite Ice Hockey League with Basingstoke Bison and 51 games in the old British National League with Bracknell. Luke iced for the Raiders in their 2008/2009 EPL campaign after previous seasons with both Romford and Chelmsford in the EPL. The former Bracknell junior is a solid defenceman who sticks to his job, preventing opposing players getting to our net. Luke is a great addition to our defensive line up.

10 - Kent Johnson

Kent Johnson is a skilful offensive player who brings proven scoring ability and good playmaking skills to the team. Kent joins the Raiders after a season with the Vectis Tigers where he scored 88 points in just 30 games. 
Prior to his time on the island Johnson played for the Oxford City Stars and Solent and Gosport Sharks, during which time he played against many of the teams the Raiders will face this coming season, bagging 65 points in 55 games.

9 - David Webb

 

British Trained 

 

David joins the Raiders for his first year with the team, after having spent last season with the Vectis Tigers.

5'11" Webb was the Tigers third highest points scorer in the ENL Div. 2 last season with 32 goals and 31 assists in just 32 games.

The 21-year-old is another of the Raiders new recruits that hails from the Solent and Gosport Ice Hockey club having first played in their junior squad aged 12 before graduating to their ENL side.

David who lives in Southampton has also played Roller Hockey for Great Britain and the European Allstars.
